Terms of Sydenham

Welcome to Sydenham Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website sydenhamvehiclehire.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services

1. Sydenham Tenancy

All vehicle rentals through Sydenham are subject to a detailed Rental Agreement provided at booking confirmation or vehicle collection. The Rental Agreement sets out the specific terms, conditions, insurance details, fees, and your responsibilities for the individual rental. If any conflict arises between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail in relation to that booking.

2. Sydenham Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Sydenham, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (age limits may vary by vehicle type, and additional fees may apply for drivers under 25). Hold a full, valid driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category, held for the minimum period set out in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid photographic identification and documents confirming address and payment method as required by Sydenham at the time of hire.

3. Reservations and Payments

  • Bookings can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Sydenham location. A booking deposit may be required to secure your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are typically due when the vehicle is collected. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Vehicle Pickup and Return

  • At Sydenham you must inspect the vehicle at collection and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed at handover. Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified on return will be assessed and charged.

5. Insurance and Liability for Sydenham

  • Sydenham provides basic third-party insurance with every rental. Full coverage details and excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to reduce your financial liability. Please review these options and the associated terms carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount specified in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Amendments

Sydenham’s cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type and notice period. Refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for the specific terms. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.

7. Disallowed Uses

You must not use the Sydenham vehicle for:

  • Any illegal purpose or activity involving a Sydenham vehicle. Organized racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or regulated materials. Sub-letting to third parties or allowing unauthorized drivers. Driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Uses that exceed the vehicle's intended design or capabilities...

Violating restrictions may result in immediate Sydenham rental termination and additional charges.

8. Limitation of Liability for Sydenham

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Sydenham will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees paid by you to Sydenham in the twelve months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Sydenham Jurisdiction

These Terms for Sydenham are governed by English and Welsh law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Sydenham Terms Changes

Sydenham may modify these Terms at any time. Modifications take effect immediately upon posting on the Sydenham website. Your continued use of Sydenham services constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
